James R. White once said, “Only the empty hand of faith fits in God’s powerful hand of grace.”  If you and I approach God with our “spiritual/moral resume” in our hands we are lost.  There is a tendency of man to try to earn salvation.  If I avoid certain sins or if I serve the kingdom sacrifcially and that is the basis on which I hope to be saved I am sorely mistaken.  As the old hymn cries, “Nothing in my hand I bring, simply to the cross I cling.”  The gospel is not about what I DO but about what God has DONE!
