High Cost of Anger

By in

This afternoon I spent an enjoyable couple hours watching the University of Alaska (Fairbanks) Women’s basketball team pull off a great victory.  They won by one point!  There were lots of reasons they won, great teamwork, tough defense and some great shots at critical moments.  But one reason for the UAF victory that the opposing coach probably wants to forget is  his temper.  Throughout the game he yelled at the referees and finally they gave him a technical foul.  The lady Nanooks (UAF) got to take some free throws.  Taylor hit both of them, which in some games wouldn’t matter but in this one point victory you could say that coach’s temper cost his team the game!   What has your temper cost you?  Out of control anger has cost many people their marriages, their jobs and sometimes even their freedom.  The Bible tells us to be slow to anger.  It tells us that when we are angry not to sin.  Some anger in life is unavoidable but how we handle it makes all the difference.
