What do Christians mean when we say that Jesus is our Lord? There is a tendency among us to practice buffet Christianity. At a buffet we go through and pick the food items we like and ignore the ones we don’t. This appears to be the way many of us read the Bible–we follow what we want and ignore what we don’t. One of the best images I’ve ever heard for the Lordship of Christ is to view becoming a Christian like signing a blank check. We don’t know exactly what God will demand of us over a lifetime but we’ll pay it anyway. The cost may be high; it may even be everything, but we sign because we love and trust Him. I encourage you to sign unreservedly.
Under His Mercy,
