Perfect Game

By in

Recently my daughter Maria turned 12.  As part of her birthday celebration we reserved two lanes at the University of Alaska bowling alley.  We took dinner and birthday cake and did her party there.  After eating plenty we began to bowl.  The computer that does the scoring for people when they bowl was not working accurately.  So for whatever reason it picked me to keep giving strikes!  It didn’t matter what I threw, even my gutter balls registered as strikes!  So “officially” I bowled a 300 game–PERFECT.  We even took a picture of it to have “proof” of my accomplishment.  I couldn’t help but think of what God does for us on the cross.  A great exchange occurs; morally speaking Jesus took my score (failure) and I got his score (moral perfection).  You see the good news of the gospel is not just that I don’t receive the punishment for my sins but that I’m treated as if I’ve never sinned.  I wear the righteousness of Jesus.  What a gift!
