Quitting is incredibly attractive sometimes isn’t it?  In a country with a divorce rate hovering around 50% quitting has become imbedded in our culture as acceptable.  One of the most difficult tasks in my life was launching Journey Christian Church over seven years ago and there have been moments where quitting would have been easy to justify.  But I have found whether in marriage, work, relationships, or any area of life that perseverance makes all the difference.  The difference between success and failure is often perseverance.  The Bible talks about rewards for those who endure, for those who persevere.  When we persevere we look like our Heavenly Father.  Think of how many times he wanted to give up on the human race; but instead he loves us anyway.  Despite our rebellion and ingratitude He sent His Son to die on a cross for us.  Jesus died for all of our sin not just some of it.  In the garden right before the crucifixion Jesus wanted to quit but instead He prayed, “Not my will but thine be done.”  What does God want us to do with our lives?  What is your specific calling?  I doubt it will be easy.  I can guarantee that it will require perseverance.  So whatever you’re facing HANG IN THERE!

Under His Mercy,
