Charles Spurgeon has been called the “prince of preachers.” He had a remarkable ministry. Just a glimpse:
He preached his first sermon at sixteen, became a pastor at age 17.
By age 20 he was preaching to crowds of up to 2,000.
Once when he spoke at the Crystal Palace the crowd was 23,654!
(Remember he was doing this when there were no microphones and speaker systems).
By 1866 his trainees had started 18 new churches in London.
Over his lifetime he founded and maintained 65 different institutions!
What a remarkable man. What an amazing career!
What was his secret to success? He was asked this question and said simply, “My people pray for me.”
Have you prayed for the Christian leaders in your life today? Enough said.
Under His Mercy,
Derek Dickinson, Minister
Journey Christian Church
