Quiet Thanksgiving

For the first time in years we spent Thanksgiving with just our immediate family only.  Dellie and the kids and I had a wonderful day together.  It was a great reminder of what is most precious to me–People.  Whether it be my wife and kids, my parents and sister and her family or my church family and friends, people are what matter to me.  The ultimate person of course is Jesus.  I had to chuckle on Thanksgiving day,  the kids and I were watching “The Grinch Stole Christmas.”  At one point someone in the movie said, “Without presents there is no Christmas.”  Henry (age three) turned to me and said, “Without the baby God Jesus there would be no Christmas.”  Not bad for my pint sized theologian.  Just something to think about this Christmas Season.
