It has been said that the only thing manmade in heaven are the scars on the body of Jesus.  Why did Jesus take his scars with him?  Surely he could have removed them.  Instead he keeps the scars as souvenirs of his time on earth as a man.  I love the scars of Jesus.  They remind me that he loved us enough to die for us.  They remind us that we serve a God who has experienced suffering.  He grew up in poverty and under political oppression.  He wandered, effectively homeless.  He was criticized, rejected, unjustly accused and sentenced to death.  He was beaten, whipped, spit upon, humiliated and executed.  All of this because he loves me and loves you.  Yes, let me say it again; I love the scars of Jesus because they show me that we are loved, we are valuable, we matter.  Embrace the scarred Jesus.

Under His Mercy,
