Kent Baker
Supporting Missionaries Through Practical Service
Kent Baker has spent time serving missionaries by helping and providing practical needs all over the world. His work includes assisting with remodeling projects, installing Starlink internet at an overseas college, helping with electrical components, and supporting well drilling projects to provide access to water.
These important projects help the work of missionaries, support the communities there, and further God’s kingdom. Kent is passionate about coming alongside missionaries, using his skills and experience to make their work possible and easier.
Kent first joined Journey Church’s first overseas mission trip to Nicaragua in 2016. He traveled with a group of youth and adults. Through that experience, he realized the importance of supporting missions, not just locally but overseas. Since then, he served in Haiti ( 2019), Kenya ( 2023 and 2025), and his most recent trip was in Papua New Guinea.
Life changing events in 2025 opened doors, and Kent felt the Lord leading him and ever since then considered serving the Lord full time. He is preparing to return to Kenya next week for six weeks, trusting God to direct every step and to be a blessing over there.
Above all, Kent asks for prayer. Please cover him in prayer to seek God’s wisdom, for safety and for a clear direction. He is also seeking financial support to help make these trips and projects possible. Journey Church’s name of the fund is called Equator Snow International. ( If you are considering a check, please write Journey Church on it and include Equator Snow International in the memo line.)
His desire is to be able to go where God is sending him, to support overseas missionaries and their important work and to use the skills, talents and spiritual gifts that God gave him.
Sharing God’s word sometimes goes beyond words. Sometimes the work of our hands preaches the loudest sermon someone is hearing; and Kent shows and preaches that so beautifully.
